It lets your team access a full Windows desktop with all their applications from any device with an internet connection. We host and manage everything in Microsoft's US West 3 data center near Las Vegas.
Any Windows-based application works on AVD. Our clients commonly run QuickBooks Desktop, ProSeries, Lacerte, Drake, UltraTax, ATX, and other accounting, tax, and business applications. If it runs on Windows, it runs on AVD.
Both plans use multi-session Windows 11 Enterprise, which allows multiple users to share a single VM. We scale VM sizes based on user count: 3 users on a 4-vCPU VM, up to 24 users on a 32-vCPU VM. This keeps performance consistent as your team grows.
Yes, each user needs a qualifying Microsoft 365 or Windows license to access AVD. If you don't already have one, we offer M365 Business Basic ($7.20/user/mo), Standard ($15/user/mo), and Premium ($26.40/user/mo) as add-ons.
A connection of 25 Mbps or better provides a smooth experience. Performance matches or exceeds typical office servers. For locations with unreliable internet, we recommend a backup connection.
Essentials uses burstable VMs (B-series) that are ideal for light, intermittent workloads like email, web browsing, and basic Office use. Professional uses consistent-performance VMs (D-series) that never throttle, making them better for sustained workloads like running Teams calls, full Office apps, and line-of-business applications all day. Both plans include the same backup, patching, monitoring, and support.
Yes, both plans require a minimum of 3 users. This keeps per-user costs efficient since the infrastructure has a baseline cost regardless of user count.
Typical deployments take 5 to 10 business days from signing to go-live. This includes environment provisioning, application installation, user setup, testing, and training.
Yes. Adding users is straightforward. When you cross a tier boundary (e.g., going from 6 to 7 users), we scale the underlying VM to accommodate the additional capacity.
Existing support clients get a discount on AVD: 10% off with Cloud Support, 15% off with Hybrid Support, and 20% off with Enhanced Support. The discount applies to the per-user AVD fee.
